Prof. Baruch Krauss, MD EdM
Dr Cyril Sahyoun, PD

Cyril Sahyoun is a deputy chief of pediatric emergency medicine at the Children’s Hospital of Geneva. He attended medical school at Georgetown University, Residency at Columbia University’s Children’s Hospital of New York Presbyterian and Fellowship at Boston Children’s Hospital, where he developed clinical expertise in the approach to the frightened child, procedural sedation, anxiolysis and analgesia. After returning as an attending physician at his alma matter in New York to lead Medical Student Education efforts in the Pediatric Emergency Department, Cyril moved to Switzerland, where he is helping boost the field of Pediatric Emergency Medicine.

Lucy Bray RN ; MSc ; PhD

Lucy Bray is a children’s nurse who has worked within acute children’s nursing for over twenty five years, specialising in children’s procedures and surgery. She works as a Professor in Child Health Literacy in the Faculty of Health, Social Care and Medicine at Edge Hill University in the UK.

Her research interests include the education, information needs and preparation of children, young people and their parents for procedures and interventions, with a particular focus on the use of holding and restraint.

Dre Ana Almeida Heymans

Dr. Ana Almeida Heymans holds dual board certifications (FMH) in pediatrics and child and adolescent psychiatry. She served as a Senior Consultant in the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Service (SPEA) at the Geneva University Hospitals (HUG) before founding a private practice specialized in perinatal care in 2014. Having subsequently trained in and developed a passion for psychotraumatology, she returned to HUG in 2024 as an Associate Physician within the SPEA, where she is responsible for liaison with the Pediatric Oncology Service as well as for the development of the psychotraumatology unit.

Dre Stephanie Zucchello

Dr. Stephanie Zucchello is a Senior Consultant in the Pediatric Emergency Department at the Geneva University Hospitals (HUG). She obtained her board certification in pediatrics in 2017 and in pediatric emergency medicine in 2023. Her areas of interest include quality improvement in healthcare, the management of victims of intra- and extra-familial violence, as well as psychosocial emergencies.

Laetitia Pastorelli

Pediatric nurse since 2006, her career includes experience in neonatology, pediatric intensive care, maternity, and pediatric emergency, which she currently practices at Hirslanden, Clinique des Grangettes in Geneva.

Deeply motivated by the opportunity to support children and their families during sometimes difficult moments by providing comfort and well-being, she pays particular attention to pain management and enjoys integrating distraction and play into care. Convinced that these aspects are essential to promote healing and reduce anxiety in children and their parents, she advocates for the emotional safety of her patients as a member, since its creation, of her department’s Comfort and Sedation Group.

Audrey Chevalier

pediatric intensive care nurse for 15 years, she is committed to improving the living conditions of children and their families within her department (delirium project).

Since 2023, she has been a member of the Comfort Team at the Geneva University Hospitals (HUG) alongside Cyril Sahyoun and Laurent Jardinier, where she carries out comfort and procedural sedation consultations.

As a Comfort Ambassador at the HUG Children’s Hospital, she is driven by the values of distraction and respect for children and their families.
